New Face at IC: Miss A. Lupica

Sierra Nicholais '21

Miss Lupica is the new Physical Education teacher at Immaculate Conception. While studying from William Paterson University, Miss Lupica did student teaching in Paterson, Wanaque, Wayne, and Ridgewood. Then, she came back to her old high school, but instead of being a student, she is now a teacher. Because she is a new teacher at IC, I interviewed Miss Lupica so that I, and the rest of the IC family, can get to know her better.

Q: What is your favorite Halloween movie?

L. That’s hard, but my favorite Halloween movie would have to be Hocus Pocus.

Q: Do you prefer Dunkin or Starbucks, and what do you order?

L: I prefer Starbucks, and I order a Nitro cold brew with pumpkin.

Q: What are three things that you would want with you on a desert island?

L: Three things that I would want are my dog, chicken nuggets, and a boat.

Q:Why did you choose to work at IC?

L: One of my teachers in high school encouraged me to get into physical education and I saw an opening to come and be a teacher at IC.

Q: How is Immaculate different from when you attended the school?

L: A lot of things stayed the same, but time for us Tuesdays and the uniforms were some of the big changes that I saw.

Q: Did you ever think that you were going to teach at the high school you went to?

L: It wasn’t out of my mind, and then when I saw an opening, I thought it would be the perfect way to come and give back to the school.

Q: Did you always want to become a teacher?

L: Yes, as a child I “taught” my build-a-bears after school and always knew that I wanted to teach. Although I knew that I wanted to teach, I didn’t know what I wanted to teach. I am very interested in sports and when I saw the job opening at IC, I knew I wanted it.
